• Vey finished second on the Medicine Hat Tigers with 72 points (24-48-72) in 71 games and led the team in power-play assists with 24.

• He played for Team West, capturing a bronze medal, at the 2008 World Under-17 Challenge.

• Vey played his minor hockey in his hometown playing on his first hockey team, the Wakaw Warriors, at the age of four.

• His older brother, Shaun, played four seasons with the Tri-City Americans in the WHL and played for University of Saskatchewan in 2008-09.

• Vey’s childhood hockey idol was Mario Lemiuex and he credits his dad for having the most influence on his career – “he has given me every opportunity possible to be successful and has encouraged me my whole life”.
