On his style of play: Well, I'm using my size. I'm a big goalie. I'm athletic and I can play the puck very well, so I like to jump in behind the net and make a play so I help my D's. So that's pretty much it.
On patterning his game: I think Marc-Andre Fleury would be the guy that I'm looking to, because he's athletic. He gets out of his technique sometimes – he will dive to make the save and that's what makes him great. That's what I like. I like to don't stay always in my technique and sometimes make the extra push to make the save.
On becoming a goaltender: I started really late. I started in novice, which is late for a hockey player. I was a forward and then my goalie got hurt. He broke his finger or something, and then they had nobody to go in and I just said, I'll go in, and it went from there. I just liked it and I kept going after. I mean, I had to get equipment for the next day because the goalie wouldn't give his equipment to me. So I had to go buy my own, and then we went to the shop back in Quebec and I bought it and I started playing the day after. I loved it.
On the biggest influences on his career: My mom was my biggest fan. She wasn't the biggest impact, but she was my biggest fan. She was always supporting me, and my dad was always there, even though I was playing in Val D’or, which is really far from home. He was coming to Moncton when I was playing there, so he's always been there for me, even though whether it was hard or good moments for me, he was there.
On the ups and downs of being a goaltender: Last summer at the Under-18 tournament, I had a good moment and bad moments at the same time, because I wasn't playing at the start. Calvin Pickard was the first goalie and I was not not that I was mad, but I was a little lost in my mind, and my dad was there in Czech Republic, and he supported me and then it became good, because I was the first goalie after. So he was there for both moments, and he supported me through that moment.
On the shootout: I'm just trying to be patient and wait for them to make the move. Sometimes you just want to convince them to do something instead of letting them doing what they want.
