• In 2011-12, he helped the Regina Pats make the playoffs for the first time in four years, recording 22 goals and 20 assists despite missing 14 games with an injury. He was named the Pats’ Most Sportsmanlike Player.
• His cousin, Joey Kocur, was drafted 91st overall in 1983 by Detroit and won three Stanley Cups (Detroit: 1997, 1998 and NY Rangers: 1994). Other cousins Shay Stephenson (198th overall in 2003 by Carolina) and Logan Stephenson (35th overall in 2004) by Phoenix) both play in the KHL.
