The 2013 Blackhawks, after being on the brink of elimination following a trio of losses, are on a roll with four straight wins and with a win over the L.A. Kings in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final, would hit five straight for the first time since the 2010 Cup run and only the second time in 15 seasons.

2013 REWIND

"Playing the Wings in Round 2 was great because it brought the best out of us and it was a series that we really had to dig deep to win it in seven games in overtime, it was incredible," forward Patrick Sharp recalled. "From there it just seemed like - the three Cup-winning teams, especially that 2013 group, just got better as the playoffs went along. The challenges kept getting bigger and we kept improving our game. After that Game 7 against the Wings, we were dialed in."

In fact, after those three consecutive losses to Detroit in the second round, Chicago would lose just three games total over the final two rounds en route to the Stanley Cup.

Following a comeback 2-1 win in Game 1 over the Kings, it was all Chicago in Game 2. Andrew Shaw found the net just 1:56 into the game and was followed by Brent Seabrook, Bryan Bickell and Michal Handzus tallies all before the midpoint of the game, ending Jonathan Quick's night in the process. The final score read 4-2, but the series read 2-0 Blackhawks as the games shifted West.

"I think that team, we just never gave up," Dave Bolland said, pointing to the depth of the roster as Chicago's unrelenting advantage over opponents. "We never gave up as a team and we always knew that there was an extra little gas in the tank that we had that we knew we could finish off these teams."
