Timothy Liljegren and Boone Jenner each scored their first goals as Capitals, with Jenner’s standing as the game-winner. Vincent Desharnais earned an assist on Tom Wilson’s empty-net goal to seal the victory, marking his first point with Washington. The Capitals’ four newcomers (Jenner, Desharnais, Alex Tuch and Jordan Kyrou) have combined for seven points (4g, 3a) through the team's first four games.
Logan stopped 21 of 22 shots faced and is now 3-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage on the season. Washington’s +5 goal differential ranks tied for sixth in the NHL.
The Capitals close out their three-game homestand on Sunday, when they host the Seattle Kraken at 5 p.m.
