LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Knights fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday at T-Mobile in a 6-2 loss. The game started with a power-play goal from Tampa Bay’s Brandon Hagel, but Ivan Barbashev netted the equalizer off an assist from Mitch Marner. John Carlson put the Lightning back up by one, but Mark Stone evened the score once more on a shorthanded goal, knotting the score at 2-2 going into the middle frame.

Tampa Bay came out swinging in the second, with Anthony Cirelli scoring twice, and Victor Hedman putting up a goal of his own. The final frame saw one more Lightning goal from Nikita Kucherov to give the visitors a 6-2 decision.

2025-26 SEASON SERIES
Three games were played between Vegas and St. Louis last year, resulting in two wins and a loss for the Golden Knights. The first meeting was Nov. 15, 2025 where Vegas put up two unanswered goals in the first, one of which was a power play one from Braedan Bowman, Noah Hanifin found the net in the second, and Tomas Hertl dropped a fourth puck in before the Blues responded with a single score of their own from Philip Broberg.

On Jan. 2, game two yielded a very different result, with Vegas falling in a 4-3 loss. The Golden Knights struck first, but Alexey Toropchenko evened it out. The Blues put up two more goals in the second, and Mark Stone sliced that lead down. Vegas tied it, St. Louis scored once more.

One final meeting on Jan. 10 resulted in a 4-2 win for the Golden Knights. Mitch Marner, Jack Eichel, Shea Theodore, and Stone’s empty net goal won the game for them, despite efforts from Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours in the first and third, respectively.

OPPOSITION UPDATE
The St. Louis Blues hold a 4-4-1 record across nine games, have nine points, and currently sit in seventh place in the Central Division. Over the summer, they acquired Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks, and he currently leads the team in points at nine (5G, 4A). Joel Hofer has played six of their games in net so far, boasting a .919 save percentage.

PACIFIC DIVISION STANDINGS
Vegas Golden Knights, 8-3-0, 16 points
Edmonton Oilers, 7-1-1, 15 points
Seattle Kraken, 6-3-1, 13 points
San Jose Sharks, 5-4-1, 11 points
Anaheim Ducks, 4-5-0, 8 points
Vancouver Canucks, 2-8-1, 5 points
Los Angeles Kings, 1-4-2, 4 points
Calgary Flames, 2-6-0, 4 points

A VEGAS VICTORY WOULD…
-Mark the 410th regular season win in franchise history
- Give the Golden Knights an all-time record of 21-11-2 against St. Louis
- Give the Golden Knights a 10-6-0 all-time record at Enterprise Center

KEYS TO THE GAME
Be a Goldfish: Following a 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, both Mark Stone and Head Coach Ryan Craig made a point of noting that the season is only 11 games in. Learning from the loss, but leaving it behind them, will ultimately help the team grow into themselves as the year progresses.

Keep it Simple: Dylan Coghlan believes he plays his best when he sticks to the simple things in the game and has fun. As the Golden Knights look to keep up their hot streak of success and return to the win column, going back to basics and staying authentic to their game will fuel that fire.
