The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 4-2, in their first game of the preseason on Saturday night at Toyota Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
For the second preseason in a row, Viliam Kmec opened the scoring for the Golden Knights with 1:20 remaining in the first period. Raphael Lavoie tacked on another goal just 52 seconds later to give Vegas a 2-0 lead going into the middle frame.
A minute into the second period, Andre Lee cut the lead in half with the Kings' first goal of the night. Lane Pederson evened the score at two with eight minutes remaining in the final frame. Jackson Hallum put Vegas back in front two minutes later with an impressive individual effort before sealing the 4-2 win with an empty-net goal. Hallum (2G), Kmec (1G,1A) and Marc Gatcomb (2A) each recorded two-point nights.
