The Vegas Golden Knights (5-1-0) defeated the Los Angeles Kings (0-2-2) on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena, extending their win streak to four games.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
After a scoreless opening frame, the Golden Knights struck first on the power play from a Trevor Connelly snapshot 2:37 into the second period. Mark Stone and Mitch Marner picked up the assist on Connelly’s first career power-play goal. The Kings answered with a goal of their own on the man advantage from Artemi Panarin, leveling the score 1-1.
Regulation ended after neither team was able to find the back of the net again. In overtime, Shea Theodore drew a tripping penalty, and six seconds into the power play, Marner sent a shot from the high slot past Darcy Kuemper for the win. Carter Hart turned away 31 of 32 shots to give the Golden Knights their second win in a row beyond regulation.
