LAST TIME OUT
The Vegas Golden Knights won their third-straight preseason game 5-4 in overtime against the Utah Mammoth on Thursday. Victor Olofsson opened the scoring, while Jeremy Lauzon, Tomas Hertl and Mark Stone found the back of the net in regulation. Zac Jones, Liam O’Brien, Artem Duda and Tomas Lavoie each scored for the Mammoth. Less than a minute into overtime, Jack Eichel netted the game-winning goal. Shea Theodore (3A), Eichel (1G, 2A) and Stone (1G, 1A) all recorded multi-point nights.
2026 PRESEASON SERIES
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Golden Knights beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in a shootout for the club's second preseason game at SAP Center. The game remained scoreless for two periods before Michael Misa netted a goal at the beginning of the third. Alexander Holtz responded for Vegas with a goal four minutes later, tying the game at one to send it to overtime and eventually a shootout. Braeden Bowman tallied the shootout winner, securing the road preseason victory.
KEYS TO THE GAME
One Last Opportunity: As the roster continues to take form, players are fighting for spots and have one last game to prove they have what it takes to start the season in the NHL. Furthermore, Head Coach Ryan Craig says the team has one more game to try out different line combinations and find chemistry on the bench.
Practice Makes Perfect: Craig highlighted the effectiveness of preseason games and how they allow the team to practice every situation. With Saturday's action being the last exhibition affair, the Golden Knights need to use every opportunity on and off the ice to be prepared for the regular season on Tuesday when the Chicago Blackhawks visit T-Mobile Arena for Opening Knight.
