The Minnesota Wild defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in their preseason opener at Pegula Ice Arena at Penn State University on Monday.

Forward Jason Zucker scored a power-play goal and forward Kurtis Gabriel also scored for the Wild.
Forward Zemgus Girgensons scored for the Sabres.
