Frontline workers introduce Sabres for season opener

Doctors, nurses, firefighters and more help Buffalo kick off season

The Buffalo Sabres had some special virtual guests introduce the team on Thursday.

Before the Sabres season opener against the Washington Capitals at KeyBank Center, the team had local first responders call out the names of each player as they skated out on the ice.

Each frontline worker was shown with their name and job affiliation before announcing a player.
Guests included doctors, nurses, EMTs, police officers, firefighers, teachers, grocery store workers and more.
