The Ottawa Senators' official team mascot made his home game debut on October 8, 1992 against the Montreal Canadiens at the Civic Centre.
Nowadays, Spartacat can always be found at each and every home game dancing, cheering and pumping-up Senators' fans at the five-year old Corel Centre. Outside of entertaining the fans in his team's arena, Spartacat can be found at various charity and community events, hospitals, corporate functions, schools, retail outlets and parades. Sparty is guaranteed to make every event a memorable one for children and adults alike.
When not entertaining the Ottawa fans, Spartacat likes to listen to his favorite musical personalities like Cat Stevens, White Lion and The Stray Cats. His love for music also spills over into his movie interests, as his favorite all-time flick is The Lion King. Sparty can often be found roaring out the words of his favorite tune, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, from that classic Disney flick. He also lists Mufasa, Simba and Scar as three of his all-time favorite actors.
Growing up, one of his favorite TV shows was the Pink Panther and his best-liked book was The Cat in the Hat. One of Spartacat's best friends from his childhood was Felix the Cat, who he stills keeps in contact with 'til this day.
The courageous cat is entering his tenth season as the official mascot of the Ottawa Senators and there's nothing he wouldn't do when it comes to entertaining the Sens' fans. He claims that he'll try anything once. Unlike the other NHL mascots, he has nothing to fear because he has nine lives.
