Bruins' Marchand suspended three games for clipping

NEW YORKBoston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been suspended for three games, without pay, for clipping Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki during NHL Game No. 541 in Boston on Tuesday, Dec. 29, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 8:41 of the first period.

Marchand is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, will forfeit $164,634.15. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday for a hit against forward Mark Borowiecki of the Ottawa Senators during a game Tuesday at TD Garden.

NEW YORK Anaheim Ducks forward Nate Thompson has been suspended for three games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk during NHL Game No. 434 in Anaheim on Friday, Dec. 11, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 6:25 of the first period. Thompson was assessed a major penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head.

The incident occurred 6:25 of the first period and Thompson received a five-minute major penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct. Faulk remained in the game.

NEW YORKVancouver Canucks forward Brandon Prust has been fined $5,000 for spearing Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand during NHL Game No. 396 in Vancouver on Saturday, Dec. 5, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 18:00 of the third period. Prust was assessed a 10-minute misconduct penalty.

The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

NEW YORKColumbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been suspended for one game, without pay, for cross-checking Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby during NHL Game No. 337 in Columbus on Friday, Nov. 27, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 18:40 of the second period. Dubinsky was assessed a two-minute penalty for cross-checking.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Dubinsky will forfeit $31,451.61. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Bruins forward Marchand fined for roughing

NEW YORKBoston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for roughing Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog during NHL Game No. 230 in Boston on Thursday, Nov. 12, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 5:46 of the second period. Marchand was assessed a minor penalty for roughing.

The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
