Anaheim Ducks forward Nate Thompson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for a hit against defenseman Justin Faulk of the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday during a game at Honda Center.

Anaheim Ducks forward Nate Thompson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for a hit against defenseman Justin Faulk of the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday during a game at Honda Center.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head.

The incident occurred 6:25 of the first period and Thompson received a five-minute major penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct. Faulk remained in the game.

Carolina won the game 5-1.
