McDavid named to OHL roster for Super Series
Top 2015 NHL Draft prospect Connor McDavid was named to the Ontario Hockey League roster for the Super Series games.

Erie Otters center Connor McDavid, one of the top prospects for the 2015 NHL Draft, was named to the Ontario Hockey League team for the 2014 Subway Super Series, the Canadian Hockey League announced Tuesday.

McDavid leads the OHL with 25 points in nine games; he has at least a point in all nine games, and has eight straight multipoint games. He'll play for the OHL in Game 3 of the series, Nov. 13 in Peterborough, Ontario.

Four other top forward prospects for the 2015 draft will skate for the OHL in the two games, Nov. 13 in Peterborough and Nov. 17 in Kingston, Ontario. Ottawa 67s forward Travis Konecny, an A-rated player on NHL Central Scouting's players to watch list, will play alongside McDavid in Peterborough. McDavid's Erie teammate, Dylan Strome, will play in the Kingston game. Strome, also an A-rated skater, is second in scoring in the OHL with 23 points in nine games. The Kingston Frontenacs' Lawson Crouse and Mitchell Marner of the London Knights, both A-rated skaters, also will play in the Kingston game.

Joining McDavid in Game 3 are three players taken in the first round of the 2014 draft: forwards Michael Dal Colle (No. 5, New York Islanders), Nick Ritchie (No. 10, Anaheim Ducks) and Robby Fabbri (No. 21, St. Louis Blues).

Dal Colle and Ritchie are two of the nine players that will skate in both OHL Super Series games. Also playing in both games will be goaltenders Mackenzie Blackwood, a B-rated goaltender for the 2015 draft, and Spencer Martin (Colorado Avalanche); defenseman Chris Bigras (Avalanche), Roland McKeown (Los Angeles Kings) and Darnell Nurse (Edmonton Oilers); and forwards Max Domi (Arizona Coyotes) and Zach Nastasiuk (Detroit Red Wings).

Joining Dal Colle and Ritchie from the 2014 first-round playing in Kingston will be forwards Jared McCann (No. 24, Vancouver Canucks) and Joshua Ho-Sang (No. 28, Islanders).

Guelph Storm coach Scott Walker will coach the OHL in both games. He also will be an assistant coach for Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. In the Peterborough game Walker will be assisted by Peterborough coach Jody Hull and his assistants, Paul Mattucci and Andrew Verner. For the Kingston game he'll be assisted by Kingston coach Paul McFarland and his assistant coach, John Goodwin.

Roster for the Russian team will be named at a later date.
