Bruins prospect DeBrusk scores slick shootout goal

Boston Bruins prospect Jake DeBrusk left something to remember him by on the final day of development camp.

DeBrusk, the 14th pick of the 2015 NHL Draft, scored a slick, behind-the-back shootout goal Friday.

"My thought process going into the shootout at the end was that we lost the game and I didn't score, so I wanted to go into the shootout with the mindset of doing something kind of crazy," DeBrusk told the Bruins website. "The ice was choppy at that point, but I tried a unique move and thankfully it worked. It was cool hearing the fans' reaction. That's a move I've tried with my buddies at Swift Current a few times and I was able to pull it off there, so I decided to go for it."

The forward led the Broncos with 42 goals (sixth in the Western Hockey League), and had 39 assists for 81 points in 72 games.

His father, Louie DeBrusk, played 401 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Phoenix Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks from 1991-2003.
