FLAMES RALLY (TWICE) TO EARN 4-2 SERIES WIN AGAINST CANUCKS

The Calgary Flames overcame a 3-0 deficit and proceeded to overcome a separate one-goal deficit with four third-period goals en route to a Game 6 victory against the Vancouver Canucks and a spot in the Western Conference Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Flames rallied from a three-goal deficit and a separate one-goal deficit to earn a playoff win for the first time in franchise history. Elias also says the Flames rallied from a multi-goal deficit to earn a series-clinching victory for the first time in franchise history.

* The Flames scored seven goals in a playoff game for the first time since May 11, 1995 (9-2 W at the San Jose Sharks).

* Matt Stajan (1-2—3) scored the game-winner – which was the first playoff goal of his career – and added two assists for his first career three-point game of the postseason. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Stajan was the first player in Flames history to have his first career playoff goal stand as a series-clinching goal.

* Jiri Hudler (2-2—4) scored a power-play goal, an empty-netter and added two assists for the first four-point playoff performance of his career. Johnny Gaudreau (1-2—3) and Sean Monahan (1-2—3) each had their first career three-point postseason performances.

* Prior to Game 6, Hudler, Gaudreau and Monahan combined for seven points in the series (3-4—7). The trio had a total of 10 points in Game 6 (4-6—10).

* Micheal Ferland (2-1—3) scored twice and had an assist for his first career three-point game in the postseason. Ferland's first was his first career playoff goal. David Jones (0-3—3) had his first career three-assist performance in the postseason.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, six different Calgary skaters had three or more points in a playoff game for the first time in franchise history.

* Karri Ramo made 17 saves in relief of Jonas Hiller to earn his first postseason victory.

* The Flames improved to a 5-2 series record in seven postseason games against the Canucks. The last two times each team competed in the playoffs, the winner of the series went on to play in the Stanley Cup Final (4-3 series win for VAN in 1994 and 4-3 series win for CGY in 2004). The 4-3 series win against the Canucks in 2004 was also the last time the Flames won an opening-round series.

* The Flames will face the Anaheim Ducks in the second round. Calgary has faced the Ducks once before in the postseason from April 21 to May 3, 2006 (4-3 series loss).

* ALL-ACCESS: Stajan was mic'd up when he scored the series-clinching goal.

CHICAGO RALLIES INTO SECOND ROUND

The Chicago Blackhawks erased a 3-1 deficit in the first period and Duncan Keith scored the decisive marker with 3:48 remaining in the third period to lift them to a Game 6 victory against the Nashville Predators and into the second round of the playoffs.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Blackhawks rallied from a multi-goal deficit to earn a series-clinching victory for the first time since May 23, 2010 against the Sharks (4-2 W). Chicago rallied from a two-goal deficit to sweep their series 4-0.

* Chicago also rallied from a three-goal deficit to win Game 1 on April 15 (4-3 2OT W), with Keith scoring the game-winner. Elias says the last time the Blackhawks won multiple games in a single series in which their trailed by two or more goals was May 18 and 20, 1992 against the Edmonton Oilers (4-2 W and 4-3 OT W). Chicago rallied from a two-goal deficit to win each game.

* Keith scored the game-winner at 16:12 of the third period. Elias says the last time a member of the Blackhawks scored a series-clinching goal later than 16:12 of the third period was Dave Bolland on June 24, 2013 in Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final at the Boston Bruins. Bolland scored at 19:01 of the third period to defeat Boston 3-2 and lead Chicago to their fifth Stanley Cup championship (4-2 series win).

* Keith (1-2—3) added two assists for his first three-point performance of the playoffs. With 61 playoff points (14-47—61), Keith leapfrogged Pierre Pilote for sole possession of second on the Blackhawks' all-time playoff points list among defensemen.

* Jonathan Toews (1-2—3) scored a power-play goal and added two assists for his second three-point game of the playoffs. All of Toews' eight points this postseason (3-5—8) have come in his three multi-point performances.

* Patrick Kane (1-1—2) scored at 19:54 of the first period and added an assist for his second multi-point game of the postseason and extended his playoff point streak to three games (1-3—4). Patrick Sharp (1-1—2) had his first multi-point game of the postseason.

* Corey Crawford stopped all 13 shots he faced in relief of Scott Darling to earn his first win of the postseason.

* The Blackhawks will face the winner of the St. Louis Blues-Minnesota Wild series in the second round. Chicago has faced the Blues 11 times in the postseason and the Wild twice in the postseason (8-3 vs. STL, 2-0 vs. MIN). The Blackhawks played each team during the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, defeating the Blues and the Wild in six games in the first and second round, respectively.

* ICYMI: Actor Kevin Smith and his wife, actress Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, were in attendance at United Center to show their support for the Blackhawks.

2015 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS BRACKET CHALLENGE

Among the more than 800,000 entries for the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge powered by Samsung:

* 75% picked the Blackhawks to win their series against the Predators – including 36.2% who selected them to win in six games.

* 51% picked the Flames to win their series against the Canucks – including 20.7% who selected them to win in six games.

MRAZEK POSTS SECOND SHUTOUT OF THE PLAYOFFS TO BACKSTOP DETROIT TO 3-2 SERIES LEAD

Rookie goaltender Petr Mrazek stopped all 28 shots he faced for his second postseason shutout and led the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 series lead against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

* Mrazek's first shutout came during Game 3 on April 21 (3-0 W). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Mrazek became the first rookie goaltender in franchise history to have two shutouts in the same series in which he made his playoff debut. Earl Robertson was the only other rookie goaltender in franchise history to earn two playoff shutouts, April 13 and 15, 1937 vs. NYR (1-0 W and 3-0 W).

* In fact, Elias says only four other rookie goaltenders in NHL history have earned two shutouts in the same series that they made their playoff debuts in. Mrazek joined Washington's Semyon Varlamov (4-0 W on April 20, 2009 at NYR and 4-0 W on April 24, 2009 vs. NYR), Montreal's Carey Price (1-0 W on April 15, 2008 at BOS and 5-0 W on April 21, 2008 vs. BOS), Philadelphia's Ron Hextall (3-0 W on April 11, 1987 at NYR and 5-0 W on April 16, 1987 at NYR) and Boston's Tiny Thompson (1-0 W on March 19, 1929 vs. MTL and 1-0 W on March 21, 1929 vs. MTL).

* Riley Sheahan opened the scoring on a power-play with 23 seconds remaining in the first period and extended his playoff point streak to three games (2-1—3). Each of Sheahan's two career postseason goals has been scored on the man-advantage in his streak. The goal also stood as the first career playoff game-winning goal for Sheahan.

* Pavel Datsyuk scored his 15th postseason power-play goal.

* Jonathan Ericsson (0-2—2) had his second multi-assist game of the postseason. Henrik Zetterberg (0-1—1) extended his postseason point streak to three games (0-3—3).

* Drew Miller scored his first goal of the postseason and Danny DeKeyser scored his second career playoff goal into an empty net.

* Mike Babcock earned his 82nd career playoff victory (82-60) and tied Toe Blake for ninth on the NHL's all-time postseason wins list among head coaches.

HALAK, ISLANDERS FORCE GAME 7

Jaroslav Halak made 38 saves and Nikolay Kulemin scored the decisive marker with 9:27 remaining in the third period to help the New York Islanders stave off elimination against the Washington Capitals and force a Game 7.

* The Islanders improved 16-5 in home playoff games where they have faced elimination.

* Halak made 38 saves – including 15 in the first period – to earn his third win of the postseason. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Halak is 6-1 with a 1.72 goals-against average and .956 save percentage in seven career playoff games where he has faced elimination.

* Kulemin scored his first career playoff goal.

* John Tavares (1-1—2) opened the scoring and added an assist for his first multi-point game of the postseason. Tavares has at least one point in 11 of his past 12 games dating to March 29 against Detroit, totaling six goals and 18 points in that span.

* The Islanders have opened the scoring in every contest of the series save for Game 4 on April 21. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Islanders have scored first in five games of a playoff series for the second time in history; they also opened the scoring in all five games of their best-of-five series against the Pittsburgh Penguins from April 7-13, 1982 (3-2 series win).

* Nick Leddy (0-2—2) had two assists to extend his playoff point streak to a career-high four games (0-5—5). His previous best was a three-game playoff point streak from May 18-24, 2014 against the Los Angeles Kings (1-2—3 w/ CHI).

* Cal Clutterbuck added his second goal of the postseason into an empty net.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Islanders are 3-4 in Game 7s and the Capitals are 3-9. They have faced one another in one previous Game 7, when the Islanders defeated the Capitals on April 18, 1987 in the Patrick Division Semifinals (3-2 4OT W). The game was notable for being the longest Game 7 in NHL history and was nicknamed the Easter Epic as a result.

* ALL-ACCESS: Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski was mic'd up on the bench when Kulemin scored the eventual game-winner in the third period.

* ICYMI: Actress Chloe Grace Moretz was in attendance at Nassau Coliseum to show her support for the Islanders.

Islanders forward Ryan Strome earned the first postseason assist of his career... Washington goaltender Braden Holtby made 35 saves... Washington defenseman John Carlson scored at 19:55 of the first period. With six career postseason goals and 16 career playoff points (6-10—16), Carlson tied Sylvain Cote for eighth on the franchise all-time playoff goals list among defensemen and also tied Al Iafrate for ninth on the franchise's all-time postseason points list among defensemen... According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Carlson's marker was Washington's latest goal in any playoff period since Jason Chimera scored at 19:56 of the second period on April 28, 2012 at NYR (3-1 L)... Washington forward Alex Ovechkin earned his 32nd playoff assist and tied Kevin Hatcher for sixth on the Capitals' all-time postseason assists list... Detroit forward Luke Glendening earned his first playoff assist... Nashville forward James Neal (2-0—2) recorded his first multi-goal game of the playoffs and has scored in three consecutive playoff games for the first time in his career (4-1—5). Neal's three-game postseason point streak also matched his career-high from April 13-20, 2012 vs. PHI (2-4—6 w/ PIT)... Neal's first goal came when he opened the scoring at 1:10 of the first period. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the goal was the second-fastest goal to begin a playoff game in franchise history; Adam Hall scored the fastest goal 16 seconds into the first period on April 7, 2004 at DET (3-1 L), which was the club's first playoff game in franchise history... Nashville forward Matt Cullen scored his first playoff goal in a Predators uniform... Nashville defenseman Seth Jones (0-1—1) extended his playoff point streak to three games (0-3—3)... Vancouver forwards Brandon McMillan, Jannik Hansen and Radim Vrbata all scored in the opening 9:42 of the first period. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the goals were the fastest three goals to begin a playoff game in franchise history... Hansen (1-1—2) added an assist to record his first career playoff multi-point game... Vancouver defenseman Luca Sbisa scored his first career post season goal... Vancouver forward Daniel Sedin (0-1—1) and Henrik Sedin (0-1—1) extended their playoff point streaks to three games (1-2—3 each)... The NHL announced updated start times and national television information for the first-round games scheduled for Monday, April 27... Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr will be part of the Czech Republic roster for the 2015 IIHF World Championship set to take place in Prague and Ostrava beginning May 1. He is joined on the roster by Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, San Jose forward Tomas Hertl, Arizona Coyotes forward Martin Erat and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda...
