Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise sustained an upper-body injury and will not accompany the team on the upcoming road trip, according to the team's official Twitter account.

Wild coach Mike Yeo said Parise will meet with doctors on Wednesday to determine the extent of his injury. The Wild begin a three-game road trip against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday before facing the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday and Parise's former team, the New Jersey Devils, on Tuesday.

Parise, 30, was apparently injured during a loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday. He did not play in the third period. The team will return to Minnesota after the game against the Canadiens before leaving for New Jersey, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Parise has four goals and a team-leading 10 points in 11 games. He averages 18:16 of ice time.
