Forwards Vincent Hinostroza of the University of Notre Dame and Zach Stepan of Minnesota State University and defenseman Jaccob Slavin of Colorado College were added Tuesday to the roster of players for the United States National Junior Team selection camp, which will be held Dec. 15-18 on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

United States coach Don Lucia now will oversee a 29-player camp roster that includes 17 forwards, nine defensemen and three goalies. The 22-player tournament roster for the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship will be announced Dec. 23.

Hinostroza has three goals and 14 points as a freshman at Notre Dame. The 5-foot-9, 158-pound center was selected in the sixth round (No. 169) of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.

Stepan, the cousin of New York Rangers forward Derek Stepan, was a 2012 fourth-round pick (No. 112) of the Nashville Predators. He has four goals and seven points in 12 games at Minnesota State.

Slavin has one goal and seven points in 10 games with Colorado College. He was chosen in the fourth round (No. 120) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 draft.

Three players from the team that won the gold in Ufa, Russia at the 2013 WJC will be back for camp: goaltender Jon Gillies and forwards Ryan Hartman and Riley Barber. There also will be four players at the camp who were NHL first-round draft picks: forwards Hartman (Chicago Blackhawks, 2013), Stefan Matteau (New Jersey Devils, 2012) and Henrik Samuelsson (Phoenix Coyotes, 2012), and defenseman Brady Skjei (New York Rangers, 2012).

The U.S. select camp will feature five practices at Mariucci Arena at the University of Minnesota as well as a pre-tournament game at Minnesota State in Mankato on Dec. 17. When training in Minneapolis is complete, the team will travel to Angelholm, Sweden, to continue the evaluation process from Dec. 19-23.

The 2014 WJC will be held Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2014 in Malmo, Sweden. The U.S. is in Group A with Canada, Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia.
