Blackhawks sticking with Crawford in goal, Quenneville says

CHICAGO - Chicago coach Joel Quenneville says Corey Crawford won't be replaced by Ray Emery as the Blackhawks' starting goaltender for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final.

Crawford allowed five goals on 33 shots in Chicago's 6-5 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins in Game 4 Wednesday night.

Asked if he was considering starting Emery in Saturday's Game 5 with the series tied at 2, Quenneville said he was very comfortable with Crawford and that the goaltender was the biggest reason why the Blackhawks are in the final.

Crawford still has a 1.86 goals-against average and .931 save percentage even after his struggles. Teammates said they weren't concerned about the goaltender's performance and pointed to defensive improvements that were needed.

Quenneville said Game 5 was one of those nights "pucks were going in" and credited Crawford for moving on from adversity all season.

Emery hasn't appeared in the playoffs and last played April 24 against the Edmonton Oilers.
