NEWARK, N.J. -- The New York Rangers didn't conduct a morning skate at Prudential Center on Tuesday, hours after beating the Carolina Hurricanes in a shootout at Madison Square Garden on Monday.

The Rangers face the Devils on Tuesday night.

Against the Hurricanes, the top line of Rick Nash, Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik generated no points, 10 shots and a minus-2 rating. It will be interesting to see if coach John Tortorella keeps that trio intact while giving goalie Henrik Lundqvist his fifth start in eight days. He could also opt for backup Martin Biron, who last started March 10 in a 4-1 victory against the Washington Capitals.

Lundqvist has started on consecutive days 62 times in his career, posting a 38-17-7 mark with a 1.92 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and six shutouts in the second game. The Rangers will complete their fourth of six back-to-back sets this season Tuesday when they face the Devils. The club has posted a combined 3-4-0 record in back-to-back games, including a 0-3-0 record in the second game (0-2-0 at home; 0-1-0 on the road).

Lundqvist is 25-12-5 with a 1.82 GAA and six shutouts in 42 career games against the Devils. Biron is 8-15-5 with a 3.14 GAA and two shutouts in 31 games against New Jersey.

Here were the line combinations against the Hurricanes from Monday:
