COLUMBUS -- Calgary Flames rookie forward Johnny Gaudreau will play for Team Toews in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Sunday at Nationwide Arena (5 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).

Team Toews was a player short following the 2015 NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft presented by DraftKings on Friday.

"I'm really excited. It's going to be a great experience for me," Gaudreau said Saturday night. "This whole weekend has been a blast so far. I'm excited to get a chance to play in the game."

Gaudreau was one of six rookies named to participate in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Saturday. He is the third rookie from that group who will play in the All-Star Game, joining Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad and Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg.

Gaudreau is second among rookies this season with 35 points on 13 goals and 22 assists in 46 games, trailing Forsberg's 40.

"Someone came down and told me I was going to be playing, so it was cool," Gaudreau said. "It was back and forth. I heard a lot of rumors if I was going to play or not. I thought Friday I really was going to play and I guess I wasn't. I don't know what changed. I'm just glad to be a part of the game."
