TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Dave Andreychuk was more concerned about team consistency than breaking out of a personal slump.
Andreychuk snapped an 18-game scoring drought with a power-play goal, and John Grahame set a Lightning record with his ninth consecutive win as Tampa Bay beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 on Saturday night.
Andreychuk is the NHL's career power-play goal leader with 272. He has 637 goals overall, but just three this season.
``Set another record,'' Andreychuk joked.
``I think we are at times playing well,'' Andreychuk said. ``I think our consistency still has to be a little better. We know that we can play better. We're getting wins, which is what we want. You get the feeling that we haven't played our best yet.''
Grahame made 13 saves in breaking the old Lightning victory mark set by Nikolai Khabibulin during their Stanley Cup championship run in 2004. Khabibulin signed with the Chicago Blackhawks during the offseason.
``We try not to have individual awards on this team,'' Grahame said. ``That's what makes us successful. The team has won nine games. That's the way I look at it. We all contribute during the game.''
The Predators got goals from Kimmo Timonen, Jeremy Stevenson and Adam Hall. They have lost two straight after winning six of seven.
Nashville (18-6-3), which entered as the NHL's second-most penalized team at 21.2 minutes per game, had 11 penalties for 22 minutes. Coach Barry Trotz was especially unhappy with two penalties taken by right wing Scottie Upshall.
``You're sort of surprised that we have the record we have because we take too many penalties,'' Trotz said. ``Upshall took two. If he wants to stick around, he can't take two a game. He's not that valuable of a player for us.
``You keep putting yourself behind the eight ball. I'm sick and tired of it. We're going to change that, there's no question because it's costing us games. As soon as we get healthy, we're going to sit some guys out. That's a definite.''
The Predators have five players, including center David Legwand (left knee) on injured reserve,
Nashville failed to get a shot during a 5-on-3 power play that lasted 1 minute, 29 seconds. The advantage started late in the second period and carried over into the third. Marek Zidlicky hit the crossbar with 26.9 seconds left in the second.
Backup goalie Chris Mason, filling in for the injured Tomas Vokoun, stopped 25 shots. Vokoun strained his left knee in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the New York Rangers and is expected to be out one-to-two weeks.
Timonen put Nashville ahead 1-0 with a power-play goal at 5:23 of the second. Andreychuk tied it on his power-play goal at 9:31 before St. Louis made it 2-1 with 2:30 left in the second.
Sydor gave the Lightning a two-goal lead at 5:15 of the third with his first goal in 49 games.
Lecavalier added a power-play goal with 10:50 left. Andreychuk assisted on the goal, moving him into a tie for 24th place on the career points list with Mike Gartner.
Stevenson got Nashville within 4-2 at 11:08. Hall scored with 11.5 seconds remaining.
``I thought we did a great job except for the last seven, eight minutes,'' Lightning coach John Tortorella said. ``I'll tell you right now, if they don't start finishing games the way they are supposed to, it will turn into a disaster.''
Notes: St. Louis has five goals and nine points during a six-game point streak. ... The Predators played in Tampa for the first time since a 2-2 tie on Dec. 21, 2002.
