TV: TVA Sports, SN, FS-F, FS-D
Season series: The Florida Panthers won three of four games against the Detroit Red Wings last season. Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck had a goal and two assists in a 4-3 win in Detroit on Dec. 2, 2014. Goalie Roberto Luongo made two saves in the shootout in a 3-2 Panthers win on Dec. 12, 2014. Stephen Weiss scored and had two assists in Detroit's 5-4 win on Jan. 27 in Florida. Forward Jaromir Jagr had two points (goal, assist) in the Panthers' 3-1 home win on March 19.
Panthers team scope: Coach Gerard Gallant said Jagr will be in the lineup Saturday, according to the Sun Sentinel. Jagr had left a 3-2 shootout victory against the New York Islanders on Friday with 8:39 left in the third period but practiced Saturday. "I haven't talked to him [Saturday], but the trainers say he's going to be fine for [Sunday]," coach Gerard Gallant told the Panthers website Saturday. Jagr, who leads the Panthers in goals (eight) and points (18), remains one goal behind Marcel Dionne for fourth place on the NHL's all-time list with 731. Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov (knee) wore a non-contact jersey in practice Saturday. He will travel with the Panthers for their five-game road trip but won't play Sunday. Defenseman Dylan Olsen was recalled from Portland of the American Hockey League and will replace Alex Petrovic (ankle), who didn't practice Saturday.
Red Wings team scope: Goalie Petr Mrazek (6-4-2, 2.21 goals-against average, .931 save percentage) will start for Detroit, coach Jeff Blashill told the Red Wings website. Defenseman Jakub Kindl, who has been a healthy scratch the past four games, will also be back in the lineup. Detroit recalled right wing Tomas Jurco (conditioning) from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. "He went down and did what we asked him to do," Blashill said. "He went down and was great from all accounts. We wanted him to gain some confidence. We think obviously playing the way he's played down there, he should come back with lots of confidence." Jurco, 22, had five goals and four assists in five games with Grand Rapids after one assist in four games with the Red Wings.
