Rangers, Flyers begin home-and-home set
New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers

RANGERS (9-8-4) AT FLYERS (8-10-3)

Season series: The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers start a weekend home-and-home with the Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown before playing Saturday in New York. Rangers Kevin Klein and Rick Nash scored and goaltender Cam Talbot made 31 saves in a 2-0 win at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 19.

Rangers team scope: The Rangers lost 4-3 to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the second time in nine days on Wednesday. The game was at Amalie Arena, and it was the first as a visiting player for Martin St. Louis since he asked to be traded by the Lightning last season. "I've never seen hockey played on that side of the rink," St. Louis told the Rangers website. "I've always been on the other side. It was definitely different for me." Nash scored his 15th goal, tying him for second in the League. He has a goal in three straight games and eight goals in 16 games against Philadelphia.

Flyers team scope: After a 5-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday, Philadelphia held a meeting, and coach Craig Berube said he didn't feel some of his players were competing hard enough. Lineup changes are a possibility for Friday. If ice time is any indicator, two players to watch could be R.J. Umberger, who played 10:07 against Detroit, and Vincent Lecavalier, who played 11:10. Umberger has no points, 16 shots on goal and a minus-4 rating in his past 14 games; Lecavalier has two assists and a minus-3 rating in his past 10 games. "We have eight healthy [defensemen], forwards that are healthy," Berube said, according to CSN Philadelphia. "We're going to make decisions game in and game out."
