Sharks conclude eight-day trip against Bruins
San Jose Sharks vs. Boston Bruins

SHARKS (4-1-1) at BRUINS (3-4-0)


Season series: The Boston Bruins swept the 2013-14 season series from the San Jose Sharks. Four goals were scored in the two games. David Krejci scored with 0.8 seconds left in the third period and Tuukka Rask made 38 saves in the Bruins' 2-1 win at TD Garden on Oct. 24, 2013. Carl Soderberg scored with 7:35 remaining in the third and Rask stopped all 26 shots he faced in a 1-0 victory at SAP Center on Jan. 11. Patrick Marleau was the only Shark to score against Rask on 65 total shots in the two games.

Sharks team scope: This is the conclusion of a five-game, eight-day road trip for San Jose, which has gained five of a possible eight points (2-1-1). Antti Niemi and Alex Stalock have identical stats when it comes to goals-against average (2.27), save percentage (.933) and shutouts (one), however Niemi has won all three of his starts and Stalock is 1-1-1. Brent Burns leads NHL defensemen with six assists and is tied for first with seven points. The Sharks didn't practice Monday after playing on consecutive nights over the weekend, edging the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Saturday and getting shut out 4-0 by the New York Rangers on Sunday. Bruins team scope: Patrice Bergeron tied Adam Oates for 13th on Boston's all-time scoring list with an assist in a 4-0 win against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Bergeron's next point will be the 500th of his career. The Bruins have scored 11 goals in their past three games (2-1-0) after managing four goals in their first four games (1-3-0). Forward Seth Griffith, who was reassigned to Providence of the American Hockey League on Sunday, was quickly recalled Monday and took part in Bruins practice. Defenseman Kevan Miller sustained a dislocated right shoulder in a first-period fight Saturday and is out indefinitely. "We have some depth (on defense), we talk about that all the time," coach Claude Julien said. "Here's an opportunity to take advantage of that depth we talk about."
