Flyers try to cool off Henrique as they host Devils
New Jersey Devils vs. Philadelphia Flyers

DEVILS (28-24-13) at FLYERS (33-24-7)

TV: RDS, MSG PLUS, CSN-PH

Last 10: New Jersey 5-3-2; Philadelphia 7-2-1

Season series: It's the fourth and final regular-season game between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers won two of the three games, most recently when Brayden Schenn scored 1:50 into overtime to give Philadelphia a 3-2 win Jan. 7 in Newark.

Big story: With 17 games remaining, the New Jersey Devils are running out of time to make up ground in the Stanley Cup Playoff race. While Tuesday starts a three-game road trip, they return home after that for five; they'll play 10 of their final 17 games at home, where they're 16-8-7.

The Flyers have 18 games left but catch a nice break in their last weeks. They're in the midst of a stretch that will see them play three games in seven days, and after Tuesday they won't play again until Saturday. However, they play nine games in 16 days to finish March, including a three-game-in-four-day stretch that features back-to-back games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and then one against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Team Scope:

Devils: How did Adam Henrique celebrating being named one of the NHL's Three Stars of the Week on Monday? By taking the day off.

Henrique was named the Third Star after he had five goals in three games. But he sat out practice Monday for what coach Peter DeBoer called "maintenance resting."

He said he needed extra rest after losing an hour for Daylight Savings Time on Sunday.

"That hour ahead got me," Henrique said. "It threw me off guard."

That might be the only thing that's gotten to Henrique. The New Jersey center has goals in six straight games; he has nine goals and 11 points in that span.

"I didn't want to use it all out there [Monday]," Henrique said of not practicing. "I'm trying to save some. … It's just a rest day. Nothing other than that. [Tuesday is] a huge game for us again. We have to be ready and play even better than we did last game."

Flyers: Goalie Steve Mason has started the past five games and 10 of the past 11, but he might not get much rest for the rest of the season.

Veteran backup goalie Ray Emery has missed the past three games with a lower-body injury and is doubtful for the game Tuesday against the Devils. With untested rookie Calvin Heeter serving as the backup and the Flyers fighting to remain in a playoff spot, it's likely coach Craig Berube continues to ride Mason for most, if not all, of the Flyers' remaining 18 games.

For now, however, Berube isn't worried about wearing Mason out.

"The schedule's fine. I think he's OK," Berube said after practice Monday. "It gets busy after this weekend."

After Tuesday the Flyers don't play against until Saturday against the Penguins, but that game starts a stretch of five games in eight days, starting with a home-and-home weekend matchup with the Atlantic Division leaders on Saturday in Philadelphia and Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Who's hot: Henrique has goals in six straight games; he has nine goals and 11 points in that span. … Flyers forward Jakub Voracek has seven points in his past three games.

Injury report: The Devils have no reported injuries. … Emery (lower body) is doubtful and Flyers forward Steve Downie (illness) is questionable. Forward Zac Rinaldo (upper body) is day-to-day and will not play.
