Flyers end six-game road trip vs. Blackhawks
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Chicago Blackhawks

FLYERS (13-14-3) at BLACKHAWKS (22-6-5)

TV: NBCSN, TSN2

Last 10: Philadelphia 5-4-1; Chicago 7-2-1

Season series: This is the first of two games between the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks. They will face each other again March 18 at Wells Fargo Center.

Big story: Flyers goalie Ray Emery makes his return to Chicago, where he helped the Blackhawks win their second Stanley Cup championship in four seasons last June. Emery went 17-1-0 with a 1.94 goals-against average and .922 save percentage last season; he is 3-5-0 with a 2.56 GAA for the Flyers.

"Yeah, I was definitely fortunate to get there," Emery told CSNPhilly.com on Tuesday. "What the role or what team you are with, to make the Stanley Cup Final, it's a pretty exciting year. So when we made it in Chicago, I was definitely excited. I was happy, fortunate or whatever you want to call it, that we finally got it. It was the third time around."

Team Scope:

Flyers: Philadelphia heads to Chicago with hopes of avoiding a three-game skid. The Flyers managed to get a point against the Ottawa Senators on Monday when Kimmo Timonen erased a 4-3 deficit midway through the third period, but ended up losing 5-4 in a shootout at Canadian Tire Centre.

"It was competitive out there," Flyers coach Craig Berube told reporters Tuesday. "They were ready. They played a tough game, and I thought they responded and I thought they were good. We responded well and I thought that we hung in there. First period, we didn't generate a whole lot, but I thought we got going."

The Flyers wrap up a six-game road trip in Chicago.

Blackhawks: Chicago coach Joel Quenneville was awfully pleased with the Blackhawks' effort Tuesday night, and he had every right to be. Brandon Saad and Patrick Sharp had two goals apiece, and Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.

"Great start, across-the-board contributions, so it was a very good night," Quenneville said.

Sharp had four assists in Chicago's 5-2 win Nov. 9 in the Blackhawks' previous visit to American Airlines Center.

"We've had some success here, but it's still a tough place to play and the Stars are a tough team to play against. They're a young team. They're hardworking. They've got speed on all their lines, so it's a difficult challenge every time we play them," Sharp said. "I thought we did a good job of sending a lot of pucks on net, not too many prime chances but the ones we had we made sure we capitalized on them."

Who's hot: Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds has three assists in the past two games. … Sharp has five points (three goals, two assists) in his past two games, and defenseman Brent Seabrook has a three-game point streak (one goal, four assists).

Injury report: Flyers center Vincent Lecavalier (back) is on injured reserve. … The Blackhawks are without goalies Corey Crawford (lower body) and Nikolai Khabibulin (lower body) and forward Bryan Bickell (knee).
