The Ducks have assigned left wing Ryan Garbutt to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Garbutt, 31 (8/12/85), collected 2-1=3 points with 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 27 games with the Ducks this season. The 6-0, 188-pound forward appeared in his 300th career NHL game on Nov. 26 at San Jose, scoring his second goal of the season in a 3-2 Ducks victory. Acquired from Chicago in exchange for Jiri Sekac on Jan. 21, 2016, Garbutt has recorded 39-48=87 points with 283 PIM in 305 career NHL games with Anaheim, Chicago and Dallas.

Originally signed as a free agent by Dallas on July 1, 2011, Garbutt has earned 35-35=70 points with a +25 rating and 214 PIM in 115 career AHL games with Texas (2011-12) and Chicago (2010-11). Garbutt also played four NCAA seasons with Brown University from 2005-09, registering 29-29=58 points with 203 PIM in 116 games.
