FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien was dressed for success at the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, and when you are in Gillette Stadium, that means wearing a hoodie.

Julien, who on Thursday promised a surprise for the outdoor game against the Montreal Canadiens, led the Bruins into the stadium dressed like Patriots coach Bill Belichick, hoodie and all.

“I just wanted to honor him, since we are in his building. Hopefully we can honor him with a win.” Julien told NBC's Pierre Mcguire during the game.

Julien visited the Patriots at practice Wednesday, and Thursday morning Belichick skated with the Bruins coach on the outdoor rink.

In a video posted on the Bruins website, Julien has Belichick inspect the hoodie, making sure his initials are in the right place and the cut-off sleeves are the correct length.

Julien also double checks with Belichick when he should or shouldn't have the hood up.

"That's awesome. I love it," said Belichick when looking at the hoodie.
