DENVER -- Colorado Avalanche forward Alex Tanguay left the ice in the second period Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens with a knee injury and did not return.
He will have an MRI on the knee Sunday or Monday, coach Patrick Roy said.
Tanguay was injured on a hard hit into the boards at Pepsi Center.
Tanguay had nine points (three goals) in 12 games this year, tying him for third on the team. He was plus-8 entering the game against Montreal.
