At the Rink: Ducks at Red Wings

DETROIT -- According to the NHL's original schedule, the Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings each would be playing the second of back-to-back games when they face off at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday (7 p.m., CITY, PRIME, FS-SD, FS-D).

But only Detroit (24-15-8) will be playing for the second consecutive night; Anaheim (20-18-7) had its scheduled game Friday at the Washington Capitals postponed because of the severe snowstorm impacting the Washington area.

The game was first moved from 7 p.m., to 5 p.m., and then postponed at a little after 1 p.m.

The Ducks arrived in Detroit on Friday night.

“For us, it hasn't been that hard,” Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf said. “We didn't have to play a game or anything. We just had to get back on an airplane. We were able to get here in time last night to have a good dinner. We got in around 5.”

At the Rink: Blues at Red Wings

DETROIT -- In an effort to score more goals, the Detroit Red Wings will put their two leading goal scorers, Dylan Larkin and Tomas Tatar, on a line with their hottest scorer, Pavel Datsyuk, against the St. Louis Blues at Joe Louis Arena on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TVA Sports, SN).

Detroit (23-14-8) has 15 goals in its past seven games but has gone 5-1-1.

Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said one of those highly skilled players has to be a net-front presence.

"I've had a little talk with Dylan and I'll have another talk with him," Blashill said. "They've got to find a net-presence guy. It doesn't always mean one guy. Certainly Pavel has been willing to, [Tatar] has been willing to.

"The way the situation arises, whoever is there has to be in front. But we can't have three guys standing on the outside so Dylan's got to be aware of that too."

At the Rink: Flyers at Red Wings

DETROIT -- Right wing Teemu Pulkkinen returns for the Detroit Red Wings against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC SN).

Pulkkinen has missed 18 games since dislocating his right shoulder Dec. 3 against the Arizona Coyotes.

"Obviously I think it's going to take maybe a game or two to get to game speed," Pulkkinen said. "I just try to keep it simple, play hard and play short shifts and I think I'm fine."

Pulkkinen has six goals and 11 assists in 24 games.

At the Rink: Penguins at Red Wings

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson will return after missing five games because of a shoulder injury when Detroit plays the Pittsburgh Penguins at Joe Louis Arena Thursday (6 p.m. ET; SN, ROOT, FS-D).

"I don't even like to stay away two days from the ice but I had a chance to skate every day, which helps," Ericsson said. "It's not going to be the same as a game, conditioning, but it's going to be as close as you get when you have the chance to skate every day."

In 32 games this season, Ericsson has one goal, six points and a plus-7 rating.

At the Rink: Devils at Red Wings

DETROIT – Forward Patrik Elias won't be in the lineup when the New Jersey Devils (16-13-5) play the Detroit Red Wings (17-9-7) on Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena (7:30 p.m., MSG+, FS-D+) because of a knee injury.

Elias missed the start of the season because of a knee injury and made his season debut on Nov. 25. He has a goal and four assists in 13 games and was a healthy scratch in a 2-1 shootout loss at the Boston Bruins on Sunday.

"It has nothing to do with what was bothering me before," Elias said. "Whatever my issue was before, it's not the same today. This is more muscle related. So I don't know if it was from the skate (on Monday) or the night before when I didn't play.”

At the Rink: Flames at Red Wings

DETROIT – Captain Henrik Zetterberg will be in the lineup for the Detroit Red Wings (16-9-7) but defenseman Jonathan Ericsson will be a game-time decision when Detroit plays the Calgary Flames (15-15-2) at Joe Louis Arena Sunday (7 p.m., SN, FS-D).

Each player sustained a lower-body injury in the Red Wings 4-3 shootout loss against the Vancouver Canucks Friday and had been listed as questionable for the game.

If Ericsson can't play, Jakub Kindl will take his place in the lineup. Kindl has been a healthy scratch in each of the past eight games.

At the Rink: Canucks at Red Wings

DETROIT -- The Vancouver Canucks will be without injured center Henrik Sedin when they play the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Friday (7:30 p.m. ET; SN, FS-D+).

"He won't be in tonight," coach Willie Desjardins said. "I don't think it will be long (before Sedin returns to the lineup)."

Sedin left a 2-0 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday in the second period because of a lower-body injury.

At the Rink: Sabres at Red Wings

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings have earned at least a point in 13 straight (8-0-5) going into their game against the Buffalo Sabres at Joe Louis Arena on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; MSG-B, BELL TV, FS-D+) but still think they have a lot of room for improvement.

"Two areas that we want to be better at is, one, our turnovers have crept up over the five-game segment compared to the three previous to that, so we need to limit more of our turnovers," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. "We had too many turnovers the other night (a 3-2 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils on Friday) in the third period as well.

"And then as we continue to become a better offensive team, which we've been over the last 15 games -- I think we're ranked first in the League [during that time] -- we have to measure that versus making sure we're really good defensively. Ultimately, the best teams are the ones that are great defensively and offensively."

At the Rink: Canadiens at Red Wings

DETROIT -- Montreal Canadiens goaltender Dustin Tokarski will make his first start of the season Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings (7:30 p.m. ET; RDS, CITYM, FS-D).

Tokarski was recalled from St. John's of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

Mike Condon had started the previous six games since Carey Price aggravated a lower-body injury Nov. 25.

Condon made 20 saves in a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, the Canadiens' third straight loss (0-3-0).

The Canadiens had an optional skate Thursday, and announced that forward Charles Hudon will make his NHL debut. He'll replace Christian Thomas in the lineup.

Also, defenseman Greg Pateryn will play in place of Nathan Beaulieu.

At the Rink: Predators at Red Wings

DETROIT -- Forward Joakim Andersson will be in the lineup for the Detroit Red Wings when they play the Nashville Predators at Joe Louis Arena Saturday (7 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-TN, FS-D).

Detroit will be without forwards Drew Miller (broken jaw) and Teemu Pulkkinen (dislocated shoulder) who each sustained an injury in a 5-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes Thursday.

Andersson was a healthy scratch for the past nine games and doesn't have a point in 11 games.

"[Andersson] played well when he's played this year," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. "He hasn't got much opportunity and sometimes it gets misconstrued when a guy comes out of the lineup that he hasn't played well. It might just mean we think that other guys are ahead of him, but it doesn't mean that he's not a very good hockey player."
