Bob Green

Chief Amateur Scout

Bob Green joined the team's scouting staff in 2013. As Chief Amateur Scout, he works closely with Director of Amateur Scouting Tyler Wright to prepare for the NHL Draft, as well as identifying and recruiting NCAA, CHL and European free agent players.

Prior to joining the Oilers in 2014, Green served as the General Manager of the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL) for six seasons and was honoured as the WHL's Executive of the Year in 2011-12 and 2012-13; in both seasons, Green guided the Oil Kings to the WHL Final.

In 2011-12, the Oil Kings posted the best record in the WHL with a mark of 50-15-3-4 for 107 points, capturing the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy. The Oil Kings went on to capture the Ed Chynoweth Cup, marking their first WHL championship in modern franchise history, as well as earning them a trip to the Memorial Cup.

Green has also spent time throughout his career serving as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel for the Medicine Hat Tigers, where he oversaw the Tigers scouting program and WHL Bantam Draft for seven seasons after starting with Medicine Hat in 1993.
