MCDONAGH, KREIDER CUT SERIES DEFICIT TO 3-2

Ryan McDonagh scored at 9:37 of overtime after Chris Kreider scored the tying goal with 1:41 remaining in regulation to allow the New York Rangers to force Game 6 in their Eastern Conference Second Round series with the Washington Capitals.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Rangers scored a tying goal in the final two minutes of regulation in a playoff game before winning in overtime for the first time since May 7, 2012, in Game 5 of the ESF vs. Washington (3-2 OT W) when Brad Richards tied the game with eight seconds left in regulation and defenseman Marc Staal scored at 1:35 of overtime.

* The Rangers have won each of their last nine playoff games when facing elimination at home dating to May 1, 2008, in Game 4 of the ESF vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins (3-0 W). Elias notes that New York's nine-game home winning streak when facing elimination is an NHL record.

* McDonagh's goal was his first career overtime playoff goal and his second career game-winning goal in the postseason. Both of McDonagh's goals in this year's playoffs have been game-winners.

* Elias says McDonagh became the fifth defenseman in franchise history to score an overtime goal in the postseason and the first to do so since Staal three years ago. the other Rangers defensemen who have scored postseason overtime goals are Michal Rozsival (2007), Muzz Patrick (1940) and Babe Pratt (1937).

* Kreider's goal was his third of the playoffs. Derek Stepan (0-2—2) assisted on each of New York's goals.

* Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves to improve to 6-4 this year with a 1.55 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage.

* In his last nine playoff appearances in which the Rangers have faced elimination at home, Lundqvist is 9-0 with a goals-against average of 0.97, a .968 save percentage and two shutouts.

* With 49 career postseason victories (49-52), Lundqvist moved into a tie with Glenn Hall for 18th on the NHL's all-time playoff wins list among goaltenders.

* New York earned its third overtime win of the 2015 playoffs, tying the franchise record for most OT wins in a single postseason; they also had three in 1940, 1971 and 1997.

* ICYMI: McDonagh was mic'd up when the Rangers awarded him with the Broadway Hat following the game.

* All 10 games the Rangers have played during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs have been decided by one goal. New York has played 12 consecutive one-goal games dating to last postseason (Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final vs. the Los Angeles Kings). It's the longest such streak in Stanley Cup Playoffs history.

* The Rangers allowed two or fewer goals for the eighth consecutive game, the first time in franchise history they have done so in a single postseason. It was also the first time the Rangers have allowed two goals or fewer in at least eight consecutive playoff games (over multiple years) since March 31, 1928, vs. the Boston Bruins (1-1 T) to March 31, 1931, vs. the Chicago Blackhawks (1-0 W), a span of 21 playoff games.

BELESKEY LIFTS ANAHEIM TO 3-1 SERIES LEAD

Matt Beleskey scored the game-winner on a power-play at 1:11 of the third period to propel the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-1 series lead against the Calgary Flames.

* Beleskey has a goal in each of the four games in this series (4-0—4). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he became the second player in franchise history to score in each of the first four games of a playoff series, joining Teemu Selanne (Games 1-4 of the 2011 WQF vs. the Nashville Predators).

* Elias notes that Beleskey's four-game goal streak also matched a franchise playoff record. In addition to Selanne's streak, teammate Corey Perry also scored in four consecutive games from April 23-May 1, 2009 (4-1—5).

* Beleskey has two game-winning goals in this year's playoffs (8 GP) after leading the Ducks with eight during the regular season (65 GP).

* Jakob Silfverberg (1-1—2) opened the scoring on a power play early in the first period and added an assist to record his third multiple-point game of the 2015 playoffs.

* Andrew Cogliano scored his second goal of the playoffs. Patrick Maroon added his fourth goal of the postseason into an empty net.

* Francois Beauchemin had two assists. With 35 career playoff points (10-25—35), Beauchemin passed Scott Niedermayer for the franchise's all-time lead among defensemen and for fourth overall in points.

* Frederik Andersen made 25 saves to improve to 7-1 in this year's playoffs. He has a 1.96 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

* The Ducks are 7-1 in the playoffs, 3-1 on the road.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault earned his 56th career postseason win (56-57) and passed Jacques Demers for sole possession of 18th on the NHL's all-time playoff wins list among coaches. ... Washington goaltender Braden Holtby made 41 saves. ... Washington forward Curtis Glencross opened the scoring on a breakaway at 10:54 of the third period with his first career playoff goal. ... Washington forward Tom Wilson (0-1—1) had his first career playoff point. ... Anaheim forward Ryan Kesler (0-1—1) extended his playoff point streak to three games (0-3—3). ... Calgary forwards Sean Monahan and Micheal Ferland each scored his third goal of the postseason; they came in a span of 1:07 in the first period. ... Calgary forward Johnny Gaudreau (0-1—1) leads the Flames and all rookies in playoff points with 3-5—8 in 10 GP. He shared first among rookies with 24-40—64 during the regular season (80 GP). ... Calgary goaltender Karri Ramo made 25 saves. ... The NHL announced updated start times and national television information for 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round games scheduled for Sunday, May 10...
