OHL Roundup: MacInnis leads Rangers with three points in 8-1 win over Knights

LONDON, Ont. - Ryan MacInnis scored twice and added an assist to power the Kitchener Rangers to an 8-1 win over the London Knights in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Max Iafrate also had two goals — including one shorthanded goal in the second period — and Brandon Robinson added a goal and two assists as Kitchener (30-22-10) won its third straight. Gustaf Franzen, Mason Kohn, and Adam Mascherin also scored.

Max Domi had the lone goal for the Knights (38-24-3), who have lost back-to-back games.

Rangers goaltender Jake Paterson made 36 saves for the win.

Tyler Parsons started in net for London, but left after giving up five goals on 23 shots through the first two periods. Michael Giugovaz stopped 7-of-10 shots in the third.

Kitchener was 2-for-2 on the power play while the Knights scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.

STORM 9 SPITFIRES 3

WINDSOR, Ont. — Robby Fabbri and Luke Cairns had a hat trick and two assists apiece as Guelph clobbered the Spitfires.

Chris Marchese scored once and set up four more goals for the Storm (36-24-4), who outshot Windsor 51-36. Jason Dickinson and Tyler Bertuzzi rounded out the attack with a goal and a helper apiece.

Lucas Venuto scored and tacked on two assists to lead the Spitfires (24-35-4). Jamie Lewis and Cristiano DiGiacinto also had goals.

COLTS 3 ATTACK 2

BARRIE, Ont. — Justin Scott's second-period goal held up as the winner as the Colts edged Owen Sound to snap a three-game slide.

Kevin Labanc scored on a power play and Joseph Blandisi added a short-handed goal for Barrie (39-23-2).

Chris Bigras and Zach Nastasiuk scored for the Attack (31-23-9) and assisted on each other's goals.
