Fucale's 40 saves lead QMJHL to win at Super Series
Montreal Canadiens prospect Zachary Fucale made 40 saves to lead the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to a 3-1 victory against Russia on Tuesday in the fifth of six games in the Subway Super Series.

It was the second straight victory for a Canadian Hockey League team against Russia, which won the first three games of the series.

Center Daniel Audette had a goal and an assist to help the QMJHL jump out to a 2-0 first-period lead at K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst, New Brunswick.

Audette, who was drafted by the Canadiens in the fifth round (No. 147) at the 2014 NHL Draft, assisted on left wing Francis Perron's power-play goal at 6:43 to open the scoring. He scored at 11:53 to make it 2-0.

Anthony Richard scored at 5:33 of the second period to extend the QMJHL lead to 3-0. Russia got on the board with 5:52 left in the second on Dmitry Yudin's goal.

Fucale, a second-round pick (No. 36) at the 2013 NHL Draft, made 22 saves in the third period to hold off Russia's comeback bid.

The Russians opened the tournament with back-to-back 3-2 wins against the Western Hockey League, then defeated the Ontario Hockey League 4-0 last Thursday. The OHL beat Russia 5-1 on Monday for the first victory in the Super Series for the Canadian Hockey League.

Russia and the QMJHL will complete the series Thursday in Rimouski, Quebec.
