The 2014 NHL Draft will be a family affair for many of the 210 players who will hear their names called at Wells Fargo Center.

Some are sons of former players, others have brothers, uncles, cousins or other relatives who've spent time as players or coaches or have been drafted by an NHL team. Here are some of the players likely to be selected who have a previous connection to hockey:

Audette, Daniel -- No. 75-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Donald, registered 509 points (260-249—509) in 735 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings, Atlanta Thrashers, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers. He currently is an amateur scout for the Montreal Canadiens.

Bjork, Anders -- No. 101-ranked N.A. Skater

His cousin Erik Condra was drafted 207th overall by Ottawa at the 2006 NHL Draft and completed his fourth campaign with the Senators in 2013-14.

Carpenter, Robert -- No. 119-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Bobby, played 18 seasons in the NHL with the Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils. He became the first American-born player to record 50 goals in a season in 1984-85 with Washington and won the Stanley Cup three times with New Jersey, once as a player (1995) and twice as an assistant coach (2000, 2003). He was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007.

Daccord, Joel -- No. 14-ranked N.A. Goaltender

His father, Brian, was a goaltending coach for the Boston Bruins (2000-2002).

Donato, Ryan -- No. 58-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Ted, recorded 347 points (150-197—347) in 795 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers. He just completed his 10th season as head coach of Harvard University’s men’s ice hockey team.

Draisaitl, Leon -- No. 4-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Peter, was a Czech-born, German professional hockey player who participated in numerous international tournaments for Germany as a member of their men’s national team, including the 1988, 1992 and 1998 Olympic Winter Games. He also has coached professionally in both Germany and the Czech Republic.

Ehlers, Nikolaj -- No. 13-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Heinz, was selected 188th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1984 NHL Draft and played in various European professional leagues from 1981-2004.

Eiserman, Shane -- No. 45-ranked N.A. Skater

His cousin and personal trainer Eddie Hill was selected 61st overall by the Nashville Predators in the 1999 NHL Draft and has a decade of pro hockey experience in the American Hockey League and East Coast Hockey League.

Gersich, Shane -- No. 132-ranked N.A. Skater

His uncles are the Broten Brothers: Neal (drafted 42nd overall by Minnesota in 1979), Aaron (106th overall by Colorado in 1980) and Paul (77th overall by the New York Rangers in 1984). Neal was a member of the U.S. “Miracle on Ice” gold medal-winning team at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games and won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils in 1995.

Gunnarsson, August -- No. 99-ranked European Skater

His brother, Carl, is a defenseman for the Maple Leafs. He was drafted 194th overall by Toronto in 2007.

Kapanen, Kasperi -- No. 1-ranked European Skater

His father, Sami, was selected by the Hartford Whalers in the fourth round (87th overall) of the 1995 NHL Draft, and totaled 458 points (189-269—458) in 831 games with the Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers.

Karlsson, Anton -- No. 11-ranked European Skater

His brother, Erik, was drafted 99th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2012 and spent the 2013-14 season with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League.

Kulda, Edgars -- No. 145-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Arturs, was drafted 200th overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2006 and spent the 2013-14 season with Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Lemieux, Brendan -- No. 28-ranked N.A. Skater

His father is four-time Stanley Cup champion and 1995 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Claude Lemieux, who recorded 786 points (379-407—786) and 1,777 penalty minutes in 1,215 career regular-season games. He added 157 points (80-77—157) in 234 career playoff games with the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Colorado Avalanche, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks.

MacInnis, Ryan -- No. 20-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Al, is a Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman, Stanley Cup champion and seven-time All-Star who spent 23 seasons in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues and Calgary Flames. He also won the Hardest Shot competition a record seven times at the NHL All-Star Skills Competition.

Mantha, Ryan -- No. 149-ranked N.A. Skater

His uncle Moe Mantha Jr. played 656 career NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota North Stars and Philadelphia Flyers.

Nanne, Tyler -- No. 118-ranked N.A. Skater

His grandfather is U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Lou Nanne, who played 10 seasons with the Minnesota North Stars and served as the team’s general manager for another 13 seasons. He was presented the Lester Patrick Award in 1980 for his outstanding service to hockey in the United States. His brother, Louie, was drafted 188th overall by the Minnesota Wild in 2012 and spent the 2013-14 season with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League.

Nylander, William -- No. 2-ranked European Skater

His father, Michael, registered 679 points (209-470—679) in a 920-game, 15-season NHL career with the Hartford Whalers, Calgary Flames, Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.

Perlini, Brendan -- No. 8-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Fred, played eight games with the Toronto Maple Leafs after being drafted by the team 158th overall in 1980. Brendan began his hockey career in the United Kingdom, where Fred worked as the director of a hockey program after his playing career ended in 1997 with the Guildford Flames of the British Hockey League.

Peters, Alexander -- No. 56-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Justin, is a goaltender who was selected 38th overall by Carolina in the 2004 NHL Draft. He appeared in 21 games for the Hurricanes during the 2013-14 season.

Quenneville, John -- No. 23-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Peter, was selected 195th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2013 NHL Draft. John also is the second cousin of Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville, and Boston Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk is his uncle by marriage.

Ramsey, Jack -- No. 181-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Mike, was a defenseman for the U.S. “Miracle on Ice” gold medal-winning team at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games and is a member of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. He skated in 1,070 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings.

Reinhart, Sam -- No. 3-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Max, was selected by the Calgary Flames in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, while his brother, Griffin, was drafted fourth overall by the New York Islanders in 2012. Their father, Paul, was selected 12th overall by the Atlanta Flames in 1979 and played 11 NHL seasons with the Flames and Vancouver Canucks.

Ritchie, Nick -- No. 7-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Brett, was selected 44th overall by the Dallas Stars in 2011 and won a Calder Cup championship with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League in 2013-14.

Schmaltz, Nick -- No. 19-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Jordan, was selected 25th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2012 NHL Draft and currently plays defense for the University of North Dakota.

Schumacher, Andreas -- No. 129-ranked European Skater

His brother, Michael, was drafted 200th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2011 and split the 2013-14 season between the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League and the Denver Cutthroats of the Central Hockey League.

Smith, Hunter -- No. 39-ranked N.A. Skater

His uncle Brad Smith was selected in the fourth round (57th overall) by Vancouver in the 1978 NHL Draft and totaled 62 points (28-34—62) in 222 games over nine NHL seasons with the Canucks, Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs. He currently is the director of player personnel for the Colorado Avalanche.

Snuggerud, Luc -- No. 42-ranked N.A. Skater

His uncle Dave Snuggerud represented the U.S. at the 1988 Olympics and played 265 NHL games over four seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers.

Sopanen, Eetu -- No. 32-ranked European Skater

His brother, Vili, was drafted 177th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2007 and spent the 2013-14 season with the Lahti Pelicans of the Finnish Elite League.

Summers, Kelly -- No. 73-ranked N.A. Skater

His cousin Mike Sullivan was drafted 244th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2003 and attended Clarkson University before playing professionally in Germany (from 2008 to 2011).

Thrower, Josh -- No. 148-ranked N.A. Skater

His brother, Dalton, was drafted 51st overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2012 and served as captain of the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League during the 2013-14 season.

Turgeon, Dominic -- No. 97-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Pierre, was selected first overall by Buffalo in the 1987 NHL Draft and registered 1,327 points (515-812—1,327) in 1,294 career NHL games with the Sabres, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche. He scored 30 or more goals in a season nine times, played in four All-Star Games and was awarded the Lady Byng Trophy in 1992-93. His uncle, Sylvain, also played 12 seasons in the NHL with the Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

Wesley, Josh -- No. 111-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, Glen, patrolled the blue line for 1,457 career games with the Boston Bruins, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs. He won the Stanley Cup with Carolina in 2006 and still is with the organization as director of defensemen development. His uncle Blake skated in 298 career NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Wilkie, Christopher -- No. 207-ranked N.A. Skater

His father, David, won a Memorial Cup with the Kamloops Blazers in 1992; was a first-round pick (20th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in 1992; and played 167 career NHL games with the Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers.
