NHL Network to replay Gagner's eight-point game

NHL Network-US will replay Sam Gagner's extraordinary eight-point performance against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday at 3 pm ET.
It's only fitting that Super Bowl Sunday will feature NHL Network's re-broadcast of the season's finest individual performance.

Gagner, who entered Thursday's matchup with Chicago with 5 goals and 11 assists in 43 games, scored 4 goals and added 4 assists over the final 40 minutes of Edmonton's 8-4 win over the Blackhawks. Gagner became the 11th player in NHL history to score eight points in a game, and the first since Mario Lemieux accomplished the feat on Dec. 31, 1988.
 
"To get this at the NHL level is something I can't even really fathom," Gagner told the NHL Network after the game. "I don't even really know how to react to it."

Incredibly, Gagner continued his blazing form in Saturday's shootout win over Detroit, scoring twice and adding an assist in the first period. He also converted in the penalty shootout to help Edmonton improve to 4-0-1 over its last five games.
