SAN JOSE, Calif. - Calgary Flames goaltender Karri Ramo left Thursday night's game against the San Jose Sharks with an apparent lower leg injury.

Ramo, who stopped 29 of 34 shots before being helped off the ice with three minutes remaining in the third period, was hit by San Jose's Joonas Donskoi after Donskoi was tripped by Calgary's Mark Giordano.

Donskoi slid hard into Ramo, who was down in the crease to make the save, causing Ramo's left leg to slam into the goal post.

The team put out a tweet after the game saying that Ramo would not play Friday night at Arizona and quoted Flames head coach Bob Hartley saying the injury "doesn't look very good."

Jonas Hiller replaced Ramo and stopped all eight shots he faced. Calgary won 6-5 in a shootout.

Ramo is 17-18-1 for the Flames this season with a .909 save percentage and 2.63 goals-against average.
