ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Zachary Fucale stopped 39 shots and Gabrielle Dumont had a goal and two assists as the St. John's IceCaps halted a five-game slide with a 4-0 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Tuesday in American Hockey League action.
Nikita Scherbak and Michael McCarron scored power-play goals for the IceCaps (20-18-10) while Morgan Ellis added the other at even strength. Bud Holloway tacked on three assists.
Kristers Gudlevskis turned away 15-of-18 shots for the Crunch (19-20-9), who have lost six in a row.
St. John's went 2 for 3 on the power play while Syracuse failed to score on two chances with the man advantage.
