EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers activated rookie centre Connor McDavid from injured reserve on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old forward has 12 points (5-7) in 13 games this season. McDavid missed 37 games after breaking his clavicle in a game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Nov. 3.

McDavid, who spent the last week practising with the Oilers' American Hockey League affiliate, was expected to be in the Oilers' lineup for Tuesday night's game against the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets.

McDavid was selected with the first overall pick in last year's NHL Entry Draft.

The Oilers also announced that forward Rob Klinkhammer has been assigned to AHL Bakersfield.

He had one goal in 14 games with the Oilers this season.
