The Arizona Coyotes and Philadelphia Flyers lead the NHL with seven prospects each playing in the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Among those taking part for the Coyotes are their past two first-round draft picks, right wing Brendan Perlini (No. 12, 2014) and center Dylan Strome (No. 3, 2015). They'll both play for Canada.

The Coyotes' first four picks from the 2014 draft will be at the WJC: Perlini; second-round picks center Ryan MacInnis (No. 43) and left wing Christian Dvorak (No. 58), who will play for the United States; and third-round pick (No. 87) right wing Anton Karlsson of Sweden.

Two Coyotes picks from the 2015 draft will be with Karlsson on Sweden, third-round pick (No. 83) right wing Jens Looke and seventh-round selection (No. 183) goaltender Erik Kallgren.

The Flyers' past three first-round picks will be at the tournament. Defenseman Travis Sanheim (No. 17, 2014) will play for Canada, as will center Travis Konecny (No. 24, 2015). Defenseman Ivan Provorov (No. 8, 2015) will play for Russia.

Two other players chosen by Philadelphia in the 2015 draft will be at the tournament: Sweden goaltender Felix Sandstrom, a third-round pick (No. 70) and Czech Republic right wing David Kase, a fifth-round selection (No. 128).

Joining Sandstrom on Sweden is Flyers 2014 fifth-round pick (No. 138) left wing Oskar Lindblom. Center Radel Fazleev, a 2014 sixth-round selection (No. 168) will play with Provorov on Russia.

The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings have six prospects at the tournament. The Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild each have five.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens are the only teams that won't have a player at the WJC.

In addition to the NHL-affiliated prospects, 12 players who earned A ratings from NHL Central Scouting in its November players to watch list for the 2016 NHL Draft will be taking part.

Among them are United States center Auston Matthews, the favorite to be the first player picked; United States right wing Alexander DeBrincat, who leads the Ontario Hockey League with 33 goals and is fourth with 56 points; Sweden left wing Alexander Nylander, who leads OHL rookies with 21 goals and 49 points; and Finland right wings Patrik Laine and Jesse Puljujarvi, who are key players for their teams in Liiga, Finland's top professional league.

The 2016 WJC runs Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2015 in Helsinki, Finland. Canada, the defending champion, will play in Group A in the preliminary round, along with the United States, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland. Group B consists of Finland, Russia, Belarus, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
