Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis is expected to be out at least two months after surgery Friday to repair a facial fracture, coach Willie Desjardins told the Canucks website.
Hamhuis was injured when he was hit in the face by a shot by the New York Rangers' Dan Boyle at 12:27 of the third period during a game Wednesday.
He was helped off the ice and left Rogers Arena in an ambulance.
Hamhuis has four assists and a plus-7 rating in 27 games this season.
