Landeskog a late scratch for Avalanche vs. Penguins

DENVER -- Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog was scratched Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins because of a back injury.

Landeskog has seven goals and 21 points in 26 games this season. He took part in the morning skate and did not appear to be having any problems with is back.

Mikhail Grigorenko replaced Landeskog on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene.

Avalanche coach Patrick Roy planned to scratch Grigorenko for the second consecutive game. He has one goal and eight assists in 24 games and has gone six games without a point. Grigorenko had an assist in Colorado's 4-2 loss.
