SAN JOSE -- Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop left the game against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Saturday with 11:10 remaining after sustaining an apparent injury to his face.

Bishop appeared to be hit in the mask by Sharks forward Tomas Hertl's stick as Hertl and Tampa Bay's J.T. Brown battled for position in front of the crease. He was helped off the ice by team medical personnel.

Andrei Vasilevskiy replaced Bishop, who had stopped 24 of 26 shots and left the game with Tampa Bay leading 4-2. The Lightning held on for a 4-3 victory.
