Toronto Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer will not play in the next two games and is day-to-day after reaggravating an injury, Toronto coach Mike Babcock said Saturday.

Garret Sparks will start Saturday against the St. Louis Blues when the Maples Leafs end a three-game road trip (7 p.m. ET; CBC, FS-MW). Sparks began his NHL career with a shutout against the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 30. He let up six goals in his next appearance, a 6-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Dec. 2.

Toronto recalled goalie Antoine Bibeau from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League on Friday and he will back up Sparks on Saturday. There is a chance Bibeau will start Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils at Air Canada Centre.

Jonathan Bernier remains on a conditioning assignment with the Marlies after struggling for the first two months of the season. He made 22 saves in a 4-0 wins against Rochester on Friday and is expected to start for the Marlies against Manitoba on Saturday.

Reimer missed nine days with a lower-body injury before returning Thursday against the Minnesota Wild. He made 27 saves in a 1-0 loss. Babcock said Reimer reaggravated the injury during the game.

After the game against the Devils, the Maple Leafs do not play until Dec. 15.
