Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a lower-body injury.

Lupul, who went on IR retroactive to Nov. 28, had played in every game for the Maple Leafs this season prior to sitting out a 3-0 win Monday against the Edmonton Oilers. He is second on the Maple Leafs with eight goals.

"He's been having the same problem here for a bit," coach Mike Babcock said Sunday. "He doesn't seem to be getting the power back that they thought, so we're just trying to monitor it the best we can."

Forward Rich Clune was recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. Clune was scoreless in two NHL games in an earlier stint with the Maple Leafs. He has two goals and six points in 15 AHL games.

The Maple Leafs start a three-game road trip Wednesday at the Winnipeg Jets.
