OHL Roundup: Dominik Masin nets winner as Petes edge Wolves in overtime

SUDBURY, Ont. - Dominik Masin had the overtime winner and added two assists as the Peterborough Petes edged the Sudbury Wolves 6-5 on Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Greg Betzold led the offence with two goals and an assist while Eric Cornel also had a goal and two assists for the Petes (10-9-4). Kyle Jenkins and Matt Spencer rounded out the attack with Hunter Garlent tacking on three assists.

Dmitry Sokolov scored a had trick and had an assist for Sudbury (5-16-2). Kyle Capobianco and Matt Schmalz also scored as David Levin chipped in with three assists.

Dylan Wells turned aside 29 shots for the win in net. Zack Bowman suffered the loss, making 38 saves.

Peterborough was 1 for 5 on the power play while the Wolves scored once on three chances.

SARNIA, Ont. — Justin Fazio stopped all 25 shots he faced as the Sting shut out Owen Sound.

Jeff King's power-play goal in the second period stood as the winner for Sarnia (12-7-2).

Michael McNiven turned aside 30 shots for the Attack (10-7-4).

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Makar Tokarev scored the winner as the Greyhounds edged Kingston.

Zachary Senyshyn opened the scoring for Sault Ste. Marie (9-9-3) in the second period.

Jared Steege had the lone goal for the Frontenacs (13-7-2).

GUELPH, Ont. — Ryan Moore struck twice as Flint toppled the Storm.

Mathieu Henderson, Zack Pittman and Zach Grzelewski also scored for the Firebirds (9-9-2), who got three assists from Connor Chatham.

Luke Burghardt and Nick Deakin-Poot had goals for the Storm (2-18-1).

Flint's Connor Sills was assessed a match penalty for slew footing at 19:39 of the third period.

LONDON, Ont. — Ryan MacInnis scored twice as Kitchener doubled up the Knights.

Adam Mascherin and Darby Llewellyn also found the back of the net for the Rangers (17-2-3).

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Alexander Nylander scored a hat trick and added an assist while Jack Flinn stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Steelheads routed North Bay.

Owen Tippett and Ryan McLeod both struck twice for Mississauga (12-10-2), which won its third straight.

Jake Kment kicked out 24 shots for the Battalion (9-10-2).

OSHAWA, Ont. — Joe Manchurek had a pair of goals as the Generals snapped a five-game skid by beating Hamilton.

Kyle MacLean and Alexandre Renaud also scored for Oshawa (10-11-3).

Mason Marchment, Matthew Strome and Jesse Saban chipped in for the Bulldogs (7-14-1).
