Rogers Hometown Hockey: Sydney, Nova Scotia

NHL Network and Sportsnet 1 will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, prior to the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers. The location this week is Sydney, Nova Scotia, and the show will celebrate the history of hockey in the city.

Among the features airing on the pregame show:

* Defenseman Al MacInnis is the first player from Nova Scotia to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was born in Port Hood and learned to play hockey there. MacInnis will detail his childhood and where he learned the famous slap shot that was one of the staples in his 23-year career.

* Former broadcaster Danny Gallivan was born in Sydney and was the radio voice of the Montreal Canadiens from 1952-84, during an era when they won the Stanley Cup 16 times. His former radio partner Dick Irvin relives Gallivan's career and some of his best radio calls.

* A look into an East Coast Kitchen Party in Nova Scotia where local musicians congregate with a performance from singer Jimmy Rankin.
