OHL Roundup: Nick Betz has two goals, assist as Otters down Attack

OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Nick Betz had two goals and an assist to lead the Erie Otters over the Owen Sound Attack 7-3 on Wednesday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Alex DeBrincat also struck twice for the Otters (10-1-1) with Mitchell Byrne, Jordan Sambrook and Dylan Strome supplying the rest of the offence. Kyle Maksimovich and Jake Marchment both tacked on three assists each.

Ethan Szypula scored twice and added an assist for Owen Sound (7-5-2) with Jaden Lindo also chipping in.

Devin Williams kicked out 27 shots for the win in net. Michael McNiven started for the Attack and turned away 8-of-12 shots in 17:11 before giving way to Daniel Dekoning. Dekoning made 15 saves in 42:48 of relief.

Erie was 0 for 2 with the man advantage while Owen Sound scored three times on five chances.

SAGINAW, Mich. — Matthew Kreis scored twice and added two assists as the Spirit topped Flint.

Artem Artemov, Tye Felhaber and Jesse Barwell also found the back of the net for Saginaw (5-6-2). Marcus Crawford and Will Petschenig added two assists apiece.

Alex Di Carlo, Dane Johnstone and Ryan Moore had goals for the Firebirds (5-6-1), who have now lost three straight.

HAMILTON — Matt Mistele struck twice as Oshawa toppled the Bulldogs.

Joe Manchurek added a goal and two assists for the Generals (6-7-2) while Kenny Huether also chipped in.

Michael Cramarossa scored in the third period for Hamilton (5-7-0).

WOLVES 4 GREYHOUNDS 3

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Dmitry Sokolov had a pair of goals as Sudbury hung on to beat the Greyhounds.

Danny Desrochers and Alan Lyszczarczyk also found the back of the net for the Wolves (5-9-0).

Zachary Senyshyn, Gustav Bouramman and Jack Kopacka scored for Sault Ste. Marie (5-6-2).
